Moving Forms
Sunday, February 3, 3 – 5 pm

Price: € 5
Admission tickets can be purchased at the ticket shop and at the cash desk

Movement and sculpture—do they fit together? Movements are always fleeting and changeable, while sculpures are solid and lasting. Yet sculptors have dealt for centuries with the representation of movement in their artworks. The starting point of this workshop is the Objects of Wonder exhibition. How have British artists depicted rhythm and movement in the last seventy years? What materials and techniques have they used? We view sculptures, draw, and then make our own kinetic sculptures.

Sumpfland - Reading and Workshop with the Comic Artist Moki (In German)
Sunday, May 5, 3 – 5 pm

Price: € 5, € 8 (over 18 years old)
Admission tickets can be purchased at the ticket shop and at the cash desk

Whether it’s stories from daily life, myths, fairytales, or adventures—our series in which children’s literature is read offers fun and suspense. During the Objects of Wonder exhibition, we invite you to attend an image cinema reading of the comic "Sumpfland" (reproduction 2019). The artist Moki weaves many short stories together into a complex narrative about relationships and community, about life and death. She populates her wondrous world not only with people, but animals, roots, and abstract forms also come alive. For her books she created large, textile landscapes and fixtures that serve as inspiration for the workshop to follow. Then you can create your own fantasy worlds out of wool and fabric.
